Paper & Materials

Paper: Hahnemühle Pearl 285 gsm — bright, neutral-white fine-art paper with a subtle pearl/satin finish.

Surface: Smooth “orange-peel” texture; lightly reflective sheen that adds depth without glare.

Archival: Acid-free, lignin-free, museum-quality paper designed for long-term stability.

Why this paper: Excellent detail and tonal separation; deep, rich blacks and vibrant colour. The satin coating gives images a gentle lustre and added punch—great for both colour and B&W, and far more scuff-resistant than matte stocks.

Feel: Resin-coated fibre base with a sturdy hand; premium gallery look.

If I change paper in future, this section will be updated for full transparency.

🦅 Colliding Worlds — Eternal Pursuit (Print Only)

Every Solawen piece is sent with care, gratitude, and transparency — nothing hidden, only art delivered.

“The sky holds triumph; the sea surrenders life.”

An instant of collision: a raptor from the upper world seizes life from the lower. You can’t see the ocean, but you feel it—the flash of scales tells the story. I painted this in oil paints, layering motion and stillness together: talons locked, wings taut, a single heartbeat where predator and prey write the oldest sentence in nature.

Hang it as a reminder that freedom is never idle—and every ascent is won from struggle.

To witness nature’s pursuit is to be reminded: survival and grace share the same sky.
